« back to classes page
Every week a different topic will be covered in this Family Caregiver Support series.  The first class will help you plan for future care and/or plan for current care for a loved one.  In addition, you will learn tips on managing caregiver stress and burnout.  During the second week, we will review Adult Day Centers that specialize in Alzheimer and dementia care as well as other care options in our local community.  A review of tips for helping a loved one transition into an Adult Day Program or in-home care will be discussed.  Now for the third week, we will review the basics of Medicare, supplemental Plans, Prescription drugs, Medicare Advantage plans, Long Term Care, Appeals, and other important updates for Family Caregivers and for those with Medicare.  In addition, a review of Medi-Cal Programs and Services and Veterans benefits will be covered.  In the fourth week, Family Caregivers will learn more about long-term care services that are provided either in the home, in long-term care facilities, and the appropriate advocacy services that are available in each setting.
